Leiden University green office challenge
A couple of weeks ago Riverfood was approached by the Leiden university green office to act as host company in one of their organized challenge’s. The Leiden university green office is a student-led and staff-supported sustainability hub that coordinates and initiates a dynamic change process towards sustainability within your institution.
After a great meal provided by lunchroom "de Binnentuin" at the PLNT offices the founder of Riverfood, Linda Grotenbreg started off with a presentation on Aquaponics and set out two challenges. After that, a tour of our wonderful basement Aquaponics facility followed.
The two challenges we asked the students to think about were:
How can we get educational institutes to invest in Aquaponics?
How can we get restaurants and stores to invest in Aquaponics?
The participants had a total of four hours to complete the challenges set out by Riverfood. What came out was a great combination of the practical implementation of Aquaponics in Hotels and a solid strategic plan to connect Riverfood to students that in turn will make the institutes more inclined to use Riverfood as their source for everything related to Aquaponics.
We at Riverfood would like to thank the Leiden university green office and the students for their great work that evening and we look forward to collaborating in the future!
